Dominican Republic issues commemorative stamp for Cocoa Commission’s 50th anniversary

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Postal Institute (Inposdom), together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Cocoa Commission, has issued a commemorative postage stamp marking the commission’s 50th anniversary.

The stamp recognizes five decades of work supporting the growth of the Dominican Republic’s cocoa sector, which has become an important contributor to exports, employment and the national economy and has strengthened the country’s position in international cocoa markets.

Authorities highlighted the importance of cocoa not only for the agricultural economy but also for environmental conservation, as the crop contributes to the protection of forested areas and supports sustainable development in producing communities.

The stamp, issued as No. 08-26, has a face value of RD$75 and a print run of 10,000 copies. It measures 40 by 40 millimeters and was designed by architect Alejandro Vignieri and printed by Editora de Formas.

Its circulation was authorized under Decree No. 147-26, dated March 4, 2026.
