Dominican Republic ranks among world’s top 25 beach destinations for 2026

The Dominican Republic has been named one of the 50 Best Beach Destinations in the World for 2026 by Travel And Tour World (TTW), ranking 25th for its white-sand beaches, luxury resorts, marine attractions, and vibrant Caribbean culture.

The annual ranking recognizes countries that offer outstanding coastal tourism experiences, evaluating factors such as natural beauty, beach diversity, sustainability, visitor experience, marine ecosystems, accessibility, tourism infrastructure, and cultural appeal.

TTW highlighted the Dominican Republic’s diverse coastline, from the resort beaches of Punta Cana and Bayahibe to the scenic shores of Samaná and Puerto Plata, noting the country’s wide range of activities, including snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, sailing, deep-sea fishing, and catamaran cruises.

The publication also praised the country’s luxury all-inclusive resorts, coral reefs, Caribbean cuisine, nightlife, and renowned Dominican hospitality, describing it as one of the Caribbean’s premier beach destinations.

Among the Dominican Republic’s standout beaches recognized by TTW are Canto de la Playa (Saona Island), Bávaro Beach (Punta Cana), Rincón Beach (Samaná), Playa Bonita (Las Terrenas), Bahía de las Águilas (Pedernales), Frontón Beach (Samaná), Cosón Beach (Las Terrenas), Juanillo Beach (Cap Cana), Playa Grande (Río San Juan), and Macao Beach (Punta Cana).

The 2026 ranking is led by Greece, followed by Australia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Spain, Turkey, the United States, Italy, and Portugal. According to TTW, the list is based on an evaluation of more than 500 beaches worldwide and recognizes destinations that successfully combine exceptional coastal experiences with sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.
