Dominican Republic to host Dominican Week in France in October
The Dominican Republic will host Dominican Week in France (SD26) in Paris from October 17 to 22, 2026, bringing together government officials, businesses and investors to strengthen economic, trade and cultural ties between both countries.
The event is organized by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in France, ProDominicana and the Franco-Dominican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFD) and will coincide with SIAL Paris 2026, one of the world’s leading food industry trade fairs.
SD26 will focus on three areas: economic and trade diplomacy, political and parliamentary dialogue, and cultural diplomacy. The initiative continues efforts to deepen bilateral relations following President Luis Abinader’s meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Business and investment opportunities
The program includes three sector-focused events covering key areas of the Dominican economy.
The “Dominican Republic: Strategic Platform in the Caribbean” forum will highlight free trade zones, manufacturing, logistics and investment opportunities, followed by business-to-business meetings.
The “Green Light” forum will focus on renewable energy and investment, while “Digital Dominican Republic” will address new technologies, fintech and cybersecurity.
The week will also feature B2B meetings, a buyer and exporter program for the food sector and a ProDominicana pavilion at SIAL Paris, creating opportunities to showcase Dominican products and attract new business partnerships.
The agenda also includes a visit to the French National Assembly and working sessions at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
On the cultural side, the Dominican Republic will inaugurate the exhibition “The Dominican Worlds of José Castillo” at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine and launch the Dominican Republic X International Arts City Artist Residency Program.
SD26 is expected to serve as a platform for expanding Dominican exports, investment and business ties with France, while strengthening the country’s presence in the European market.
