Dominican Republic to host PGA Tour Americas season finale
The Dominican Republic will host the PGA Tour Americas season finale for the first time, bringing together the 60 top-ranked players of the 2026 season from October 15 to 18 at PGA Ocean’s 4 in Playa Nueva Romana.
The Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank will offer a US$225,000 purse and 600 points for the winner, 100 more than those awarded at a regular PGA Tour Americas event.
The tournament is being held with support from the Ministry of Tourism and is expected to strengthen the Dominican Republic’s international profile as a sports tourism destination.
The 60-player field will compete without a cut, meaning every golfer will have an opportunity to improve their position on the season’s Points List. The top 10 finishers will earn 2027 Korn Ferry Tour memberships and exemptions for the PGA Tour Q-School Final Stage.
The field includes golfers from Mexico, Costa Rica and Argentina, among others. Mexican player Omar Morales highlighted the course’s conditions and its four holes overlooking the Caribbean Sea, while Argentina’s Mateo Fernández de Oliveira pointed to the wind as one of the tournament’s main challenges.
PGA Ocean’s 4 underwent renovations to its bunkers and tee areas as part of a redesign by Robert Trent Jones II. The complex features 27 holes, a golf academy and a course that combines different landscapes, including holes along the Caribbean coast.
Organizers said the tournament reflects a broader public-private effort to position the Dominican Republic as a leading sports tourism destination in the Caribbean while showcasing its golf infrastructure to an international audience.
