Dominican Republic’s RD Inteligente AI program surpasses 54,000 participants

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s RD Inteligente artificial intelligence literacy program has surpassed 54,000 registered participants just 16 days after its launch, as the government works toward its goal of training one million Dominicans in AI.

The initiative, promoted by the government and implemented by the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), offers free training for students, teachers, professionals, employees, entrepreneurs, MSMEs and other citizens.

According to program data, 4,968 participants have completed at least one module, while 16,757 new users joined during the past week. Participants are registered across all 31 provinces and the National District.

The program estimates that the training provided to the more than 54,000 registered users represents a reference market value of RD$291.6 million. Officials stressed that this figure is not revenue generated by the program or government spending, but an estimate based on comparable international course prices.

The next target is 100,000 participants, followed by milestones of 500,000 and ultimately one million people trained in practical applications of artificial intelligence.
