Dominican Senate approves air services agreement with Greece
Santo Domingo.- The Senate of the Dominican Republic approved the Air Services Agreement signed with Greece, paving the way for expanded commercial and cargo air connectivity between the two countries.
The agreement, signed on November 13, 2025, during the ICAN 2025 conference, establishes a framework for closer aviation cooperation. It includes the exchange of up to fifth freedom traffic rights for passenger flights, seventh freedom rights for all-cargo operations, and greater operational flexibility for airlines through code-sharing arrangements.
Promoted by the Civil Aviation Board, the accord is part of the Dominican Republic’s strategy to strengthen its position as a regional logistics and tourism hub. Authorities say the agreement will open new commercial opportunities, improve international connectivity, and deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the Dominican Republic and Greece.
