Dominican Week in London to showcase Investment and Business Opportunities in the Dominican Republic
The initiative will bring together government officials, business leaders and institutions from both countries from November 1 to 5, with an agenda focused on energy, technology, manufacturing, agro-exports and tourism.
Santo Domingo, DR.- The Dominican Republic will present in London a range of investment and business opportunities extending beyond its well-established tourism leadership during the 12th edition of Dominican Week in the United Kingdom, taking place from November 1 to 5, 2026.
The event, organized by the British Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (BritChamDR), the Dominican Embassy in the United Kingdom and the British Embassy in Santo Domingo, will bring together government officials, business representatives and institutions from both countries to promote investment, strengthen trade ties and identify new areas of cooperation between the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom.
The agenda will include the participation of Ryan Polanco, president of BritChamDR; Carolina Mejía, mayor of the National District; Vladimir Camilo Pimentel Florenzán, executive director of ProDominicana; and Francisco A. Caraballo Núñez, vice minister for Bilateral Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also participating will be Uma Kumaran, Britain’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Overseas Territories, the Caribbean and Global Technology, and Rosa Hernández de Grullón, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the United Kingdom.
Representatives of institutions and companies including ProDominicana, Banco Popular Dominicano, the Ministry of Tourism, Inicia and Grupo Estrella will also participate, along with other public- and private-sector stakeholders from both countries.
Over five days, the agenda will explore opportunities to channel investment into clean energy and sustainability projects, as well as the advantages the Dominican Republic offers for advanced manufacturing and nearshoring operations.
Discussions will also address opportunities for cooperation with British universities in areas such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors, sectors considered strategic for developing technological and productive capabilities in the Dominican Republic.
Another key focus will be expanding Dominican agricultural exports to the British market. Discussions will examine commercial opportunities arising from the Economic Partnership Agreement between the United Kingdom and CARIFORUM countries, of which the Dominican Republic is a member.
Tourism will have a prominent role in the program, particularly on November 4, when the Ministry of Tourism will host a promotional event aimed at tour operators and travel agencies in the British market.
The event will coincide with World Travel Market London, taking place from November 3 to 5 at the ExCeL London convention center and considered one of the world’s leading international travel and tourism industry events.
The timing will provide an opportunity to showcase the Dominican Republic’s tourism offering to buyers, operators and other key industry stakeholders, while promoting a broader vision of the country as a platform for investment, production and international business.
The 12th Dominican Week will conclude on November 5 with the traditional “Cigar and Rum Night,” to be held at the Dominican Embassy in London, marking the close of the business and institutional agenda.
With this new edition, Dominican Week seeks to further establish itself as a permanent platform for bringing together the public and private sectors of both nations and positioning the Dominican Republic in the United Kingdom as a partner offering concrete opportunities in tourism, energy, technology, manufacturing and agricultural exports.
