Today’s weather: intense heat and chances of rain in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo – The National Office of Meteorology (ONAMET), reported this Saturday that the weather this Saturday will remain sunny and warm in most of the provinces that make up the national territory, until the early hours of the night. While some showers and isolated thundershowers are expected in provinces such as La Altagracia, El Seibo, La Romana, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan and Dajabón.

The meteorological agency directed by Gloria Ceballos, in its weather report, specifies that on the other hand, this Sunday, the humidity will be slightly increasing over the country as the high pressure system gradually weakens, where some clouds and isolated showers are expected in the early hours of the day, towards towns near the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts.

It is forecast that by Sunday afternoon, due to the effects of the diurnal cycle, other cloud increases will be generated towards the interior of the national territory which will record scattered downpours, thundershowers and possible wind gusts in provinces such as, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sanchez Ramirez, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabon, San Juan, Independencia, Bahoruco, among others.

Onamet highlights that in the case of the National District, the sky will remain clear and the atmosphere will be warm; Santo Domingo East is expected to have scattered clouds and a warm atmosphere; Santo Domingo North is expected to have isolated clouds and a warm atmosphere; Santo Domingo West is expected to have isolated clouds and a sunny and warm atmosphere.
