Representatives of the business sector view Donald Trump’s election as president of the United States for the period 2025-2029 with a positive outlook, considering that it could contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and that North American nation.
The president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), Juan Celso Marranzini, expressed that the first time Trump held that position from 2017 to 2020, relations between the two countries became closer, in addition to the fact that it was a period of economic expansion.
He said that currently, there is optimism in the United States’s economic sense, which definitely impacts the prospects positively, taking into account that that nation is the main trading partner, export market, and tourist issuer of the Caribbean country.
In addition, the United States is the prominent place of residence of the Dominican diaspora, which contributes to remittances.
He considered that work must continue strengthening bilateral relations, both commercial and diplomatic, as they transcend governments.
Meanwhile, the executive vice president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Mario Pujols, expressed that the American people’s decision to elect Trump as their 47th president has resulted in the Dominican industrial sector wanting to see closer trade relations and expand to other sectors.
He said this will allow Dominican industries to continue generating wealth and formal jobs for the country.
Good job, Americans. THANK YOU for giving the Democrats the boot.. We were all fed up.
