107 medals for the Dominican Republic at the Central American Games

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic is ending the 23^rd Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018, on a triumphant note with an impressive haul of medals, exceeding all expectations.

The Dominican team won a total of 107 medals: 25 gold, 29 silver and 53 bronze. The country is ranked in fifth place on the final medal table after Mexico, Cuba, Colombia and Venezuela.

The men’s relays – two silver and one bronze medal, brothers Luguelín and Juander Santos, and Andito Charles and Leonel Bonón, with a time of 30.392.

Boxing – two silvers – Mirquin Sena, and Rodrigo Marte, in their respective categories.

Dominican tennis player Víctor Estrella who celebrated his 38^th birthday Thursday, won three gold medals.

“These have been my best games,” said Estrella. “It’s been a special week, our best ever. I am very happy and proud of all my team-mates.”
