Dominican Republic tourism a smash at Frankfurt IMEX

Frankfurt.- . Dominican Republic’s Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) in Germany had a successful participation in the 15th annual trade show “IMEX Frankfurt 2017.”

Dominican Republic hosted 10 groups of invited top level buyers who were treated to an exhibition on the destination that “has it all” and the products for the segment of meetings, incentives, congresses and events (MICE).

Europe and Germany OPT director Petra Cruz headed the presentations with a cocktail for participants and a tasting of Dominican rums, showcasing the country’s most striking flavors and the “Quisqueya” hospitality.

Cruz held 61 individual meetings with representatives of European companies, while Tourism MICE director Amelia Molina did so with executives from American companies.

In as statement,  Tourism said the “IMEX” is Europe’s most important B2B trade show, specializing in the MICE segment, with the main topic “Purposeful Meetings” to provide relevant and innovative information. “The conclave was a success as evidenced by the participation of more than 9,000 invited buyers.”
