Duartian Institute says Dominican students risk losing school places to foreign nationals

Speaking during a meeting at the Duarte Museum and House in the Colonial City, Gómez Ramírez called on families to secure enrollment promptly to guarantee the constitutional right to education. He also instructed Duartian Centers across the country to work with public school administrators to help ensure that Dominican students are accommodated within the national education system.

The Duartian Institute leader also expressed support for recent actions by the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) against employees accused of misconduct, backing the dismissal and prosecution of officials allegedly involved in activities linked to irregular migration. He described such actions as serious breaches of public trust and called for thorough investigations and exemplary penalties where wrongdoing is proven.

Gómez Ramírez further urged intelligence and law enforcement agencies to strengthen efforts against corruption related to migration control and border management. He reiterated concerns about irregular migration and called for the enforcement of existing immigration and labor laws, including measures aimed at ensuring compliance with workforce regulations and immigration procedures.
