Extreme heat pushes temperatures up to 40°C across Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- Temperatures remain extremely high across the Dominican Republic, with maximums between 35°C and 40°C in several provinces as a combination of hot east-southeast winds, Saharan dust, a high-pressure system over the Atlantic, and the influence of El Niño intensify the summer heat, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet).
