Family seeks RD$3 million to save one-week-old baby
Dashley Alahia Calderón Guzmán is a baby girl who is only a week old and is already facing a health situation that requires the solidarity of those who can help her.
The baby was diagnosed with congenital heart disease (a malformation of the heart) and urgently needs open-heart surgery because she has a very small aorta and is not sending enough blood to the other organs.
According to their families, who are desperate, the procedure must be done as soon as possible, and the amount they must cover after the National Health Insurance (Senasa) contributory coverage exceeds 3 million pesos.
So far, the family has only managed to raise 60,000 pesos, but they still need to raise the remaining amount to carry out the procedure.
The family showed the newspaper, Hoy, the medical documents that support the diagnosis, and the procedure the baby needs.
