Figures: Mortality and aging: what the latest statistics show
The 2025 Vital Statistics Yearbook from the National Statistics Office reveals that 43,032 deaths were registered in the Dominican Republic during that year. Of these, 25,213 were men (58.59%), 17,795 were women (41.35%), and 0.06% had undeclared sex.
Male excess mortality remains a consistent demographic pattern, especially in the 15-79 age group, where male deaths are double those of females, reflecting differential risks associated with biological, behavioral, and exposure factors.

The age structure of mortality shows a high concentration in older people: 80.34% of deaths occurred in individuals aged 50 or older.
