Foreign Minister Bisonó holds first call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
Santo Domingo.- Dominican Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó held a phone call Saturday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss key issues in the bilateral relationship between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
Rubio congratulated Bisonó on assuming his new role as foreign minister and reaffirmed the strong cooperative ties between Washington and Santo Domingo.
The two officials discussed matters of mutual interest, including trade, investment and strategic sectors, while exploring opportunities for joint initiatives.
Bisonó reiterated the Dominican Republic’s commitment to working closely with the United States and advancing initiatives that create greater opportunities, security and shared prosperity.
The conversation is part of Bisonó’s efforts to strengthen the country’s strategic relationship with Washington and advance a common agenda of cooperation.
