Four Americans unharmed after helicopter makes emergency landing in Samaná
Samaná.- A helicopter made an emergency landing Tuesday on Las Cañas Beach, in the El Limón municipal district of Samaná, after experiencing technical problems while flying over the area. The aircraft was carrying four U.S. citizens, all of whom were unharmed. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.
Emergency personnel from the 911 Emergency and Security System, along with members of the Dominican Republic Navy and National Police, responded to the scene and assisted the occupants.
Three crew members were taken to a nearby hotel, where they will remain temporarily while awaiting a specialized technician who will inspect the helicopter and determine the necessary repairs. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the emergency landing and assessing the aircraft’s condition before determining whether it can resume operations.

Wow, looks like one of those old Skycrane’s. I thought they had been withdrawn from service a long time ago.

The reason why a Skycrain is flying in Dominican airspace is part of the rest-of-the-story not reported. A reporter would be lax in his responsibility not to ask why such a helicopter is there.
