Government lowers fuel prices for July 4–10

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) announced lower prices for most fuels for the week of July 4–10, supported by a RD$424.53 million government subsidy aimed at easing costs for consumers.

Regular gasoline and regular diesel will each decrease by RD$5.00 per gallon, while premium gasoline and premium diesel will drop RD$3.00 per gallon. Fuel oil prices will also decline, while liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas will remain unchanged. The ministry said maintaining the price of LPG—widely used by Dominican households—continues to shield consumers from volatility in international energy markets.

However, aviation fuel and kerosene will increase due to higher global oil prices. MICM noted that international refining margins for gasoline and diesel have surged since February amid the Middle East conflict, affecting import costs, as the Dominican Republic imports most of the fuel it consumes.
