Health safety: a strategy to strengthen trust and transform the healthcare system

Santo Domingo.- Patient safety will be the focus of the third edition of the International Health Quality and Safety Forum, organized by CEMDOE and INTEGRA, scheduled for September 16 under the theme “Safety as a System Strategy.”

The event will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and national and international experts to discuss how safety can be incorporated into the management, governance, innovation, and transformation of healthcare organizations.

Participants will examine the relationship between safety, quality, and public trust, as well as the role of leaders in developing institutions capable of anticipating risks, learning from experience, and continuously improving their processes.

The forum will also address the future of clinical research in the Dominican Republic, focusing on the importance of advancing research under scientific, ethical, regulatory, and safety standards that protect patients and generate high-quality evidence.

Institutional transformation and the challenges involved in building more resilient, efficient, and adaptable healthcare organizations will also be discussed.

Through the third edition of the forum, CEMDOE and INTEGRA aim to promote a broader approach to safety—one that goes beyond clinical care to strengthen healthcare management, public trust, responsible innovation, and the sustainability of the health system.
