In 10 provinces. A trough will cause scattered showers

Today there will be scattered showers, with possible thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in the localities of La Altagracia, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Peravia, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, and the National District.

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) also reported that the rains will begin in the morning and will extend until the afternoon and early evening hours, due to the approach and possible impact of a trough.

Temperatures will remain quite hot due to the time of year and the presence of Saharan dust. The low will be between 23°C and 25°C and the high between 32°C and 34°C.

In that regard, the Meteorology Department recommends drinking plenty of water, wearing light-colored, lightweight clothing, and avoiding prolonged sun exposure, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Extended forecast

For tomorrow, Sunday, Indomet forecasts that the approach and possible passage of a tropical wave will generate morning showers over provinces near the Caribbean coast.

In the afternoon, local downpours, with possible thunderstorms and gusty winds, will affect provinces in the Central Mountain Range, the northeast, and the border area.
