INACIF Report: The discovery of carbon monoxide gives a new direction to the investigation into the deaths of mother and son in Piantini.

Toxicological reports issued by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) provide new elements to the investigation into the death of Raysa Juliza Serrano Guzmán and her son Jadin Nael Cornelio, found dead in an apartment in the Arpel 07 tower, in the Piantini neighborhood, National District.

Tests performed on both victims revealed carbon monoxide in their blood samples. The results, contained in two reports issued by the Forensic Toxicology Department of INACIF (National Institute of Forensic Sciences), indicate that the samples tested positive for this gas after specialized analysis using the Conway microdiffusion technique.

The discovery represents a key piece of evidence in the investigations being conducted by the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Although reports confirm the presence of carbon monoxide in the victims’ bodies, authorities still need to establish the source of the exposure.

Carolín Milagros Pérez, 22, Jadin Nael Cornelio’s partner, was also injured in the incident and admitted to a private medical center in serious condition. However, she recovered well and was later discharged.

The INACIF results now rule out the initial hypothesis of food poisoning and open a new line of investigation focused on the presence of carbon monoxide detected in both victims.

Crazy how authorities said it was food poisoning before completing a proper investigation. Food poisonings rarely lead to death, they’ve should’ve known that! For God sake we’re literally living in the age of AI and accurate information is available for all more than ever before in human history. Who’s gonna pay the reputational damage done to the restaurant owners and workers?
