Indomet forecasts showers and thunderstorms in several Dominican provinces

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecast isolated showers along the Caribbean coast during the morning and localized downpours with thunderstorms in parts of the Cibao in the afternoon, due to the influence of an upper-level trough.

Morning showers are expected mainly in San Cristóbal, Greater Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana and La Altagracia.

By afternoon, localized rainfall, isolated thunderstorms and possible wind gusts could affect Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde and Dajabón, as well as nearby provinces.

Most of the country will experience generally sunny to slightly hazy conditions due to a low concentration of Saharan dust.

Indomet also warned that temperatures will remain hot nationwide, with a high heat index.
