Indomet is monitoring a system with a 60% chance of cyclone formation: Will it affect the Dominican Republic?

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported this Sunday that it is monitoring an area of downpours and thunderstorms associated with a trough over the northern portion of the Gulf of America and near Florida.

According to the meteorological agency, this system has a medium probability of cyclonic development of 60% during the next 48 hours, as well as in the period of the next seven days.

Indomet explained that, due to the current location of the phenomenon, the distance it maintains with respect to the Dominican territory and the expected trajectory, it does not represent a danger to the Dominican Republic.

The institution indicated that it will continue to monitor the system’s evolution and will communicate any changes that may occur in its conditions or location.
