Ministry of Culture reviews renovation progress at Fine Arts Schools and Manuel Rueda Hall

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Culture Minister Roberto Ángel Salcedo toured the Schools of Fine Arts and the Manuel Rueda Hall this week to oversee ongoing renovation and maintenance work aimed at upgrading the country’s artistic education facilities.

Accompanied by Fine Arts Director Marinela Sallent, Salcedo reviewed improvements that include upgraded lighting and technical equipment at the Manuel Rueda Hall, as well as painting, landscaping, general maintenance, and the refurbishment of academic and administrative areas within the Fine Arts complex at Parque Iberoamérica.

The renovations will benefit the schools of Music, Dance, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts by providing improved learning and working environments for students, faculty, and staff.

Salcedo said the work is being carried out during the schools’ vacation period to minimize disruptions and forms part of a broader Ministry of Culture strategy to modernize the country’s cultural infrastructure and enhance artistic training.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding similar rehabilitation projects to art schools across the Dominican Republic as part of efforts to strengthen cultural education and decentralize access to the arts.
