Minor magnitude 3.1 earthquake recorded near Bonao

Santo Domingo.- A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was recorded early Thursday morning north of the municipality of Bonao, in Monseñor Nouel province, according to the National Seismological Center of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).

The seismic event occurred at 5:34 a.m. and had a depth of 75.3 kilometers. Its epicenter was located 5.6 kilometers north-northwest of Bonao, at coordinates 18.982 latitude and -70.422 longitude.

Authorities have not reported any injuries or material damage associated with the tremor.
