Mirex activates assistance for Dominicans in Colombia after earthquake

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) urged Dominicans in Colombia affected by Monday’s 7.4-magnitude earthquake to contact the Dominican Embassy in Colombia or the Consulate General in Bogotá if they need assistance.

The earthquake, centered near San José del Palmar in the department of Chocó, was felt across several parts of Colombia and caused evacuations and damage as authorities assessed the situation.

Mirex reminded Dominican citizens that emergency assistance is available through the embassy and consulate.
