Missing Pico Duarte hiker found alive after three-day search

Rescue teams have found Dalvi Remigio Concepción, a hiker from Santo Domingo East, alive after he went missing while descending Pico Duarte on Friday.

Authorities located Concepción in the Bahito area of Armando Bermúdez National Park following an extensive search operation. Park administrator Alex Corona said the hiker is receiving medical attention at the site and is expected to be airlifted this Monday, weather permitting.

According to officials, Concepción became separated from his group on the trail between Valle del Lilís and La Compartición during the descent. Search teams tracked his movements using evidence found along the route, including signs of a campsite where he spent the night, as well as a pair of gloves and a hat that helped lead rescuers to his location.
