Panama lifts visa requirement for Dominican travelers

Panama eliminated the requirement for a stamped consular visa for Dominican citizens after President José Raúl Mulino Quintero signed Executive Decree No. 12, which took effect immediately upon its publication in the Official Digital Gazette.

The Panamanian government said the decision was made after determining there were no longer any security or technical reasons to maintain the restriction, highlighting the strong diplomatic and commercial ties between Panama and the Dominican Republic. The measure repeals Executive Decree No. 176 of 2015, which had required Dominicans to complete an in-person visa process at Panamanian consulates before traveling.

With the new regulation, Dominican nationals may now enter Panama as tourists without obtaining a consular visa in advance and can stay in the country for up to 90 days under Panamanian immigration law, placing the Dominican Republic among the countries that benefit from more favorable entry conditions.
