President Abinader donates entire 2025 salary to support social and community projects

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader allocated his entire 2025 salary to 16 non-profit organizations and religious institutions across the Dominican Republic, channeling a total of RD$5,344,000.00 toward social welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.

The funds were distributed in equal installments of RD$334,000.00 per entity, as part of the president’s commitment to direct his public salary toward projects that generate social impact and improve the quality of life for those most in need.

According to the information released, the resources were focused on a broad range of priorities, including community development, healthcare, child welfare, youth training, sports, and religious infrastructure.

Community development received the largest allocation, totaling RD$2,338,000.00 distributed among seven organizations. Among the projects supported are disease prevention campaigns targeting dengue, malaria, and Zika in vulnerable sectors such as Capotillo and Gualey through the Dominican Foundation for Integral Development (FUNDESI).

Additional initiatives include the reconstruction of a rural clinic led by the Despertando Sonrisas Foundation, as well as the development of recreational and community spaces through the FUHUESAN Foundation and the Colinas del Manzano Association.

In the area of health and disability assistance, RD$1,336,000.00 was allocated to programs including cleft lip and palate surgical campaigns carried out by the Operation Smile Foundation and the initial payment for an emergency ambulance through the Huellas Misioneras Volunteer Program.

Funding also supported the sustainability of shelters for cancer patients managed by Faces Dominicana Foundation and home medical assistance services for stroke survivors through the Dominican Stroke Foundation.

Meanwhile, initiatives focused on children and youth received RD$1,002,000.00. These resources helped finance therapeutic sponsorship programs and classroom adaptations for children with autism spectrum conditions through the Manos Unidas por Autismo Foundation.

The funding also supported children’s social inclusion activities in the municipality of Haina through FUNDECEV, along with personal development workshops and training camps organized by the Fundasocial Foundation.

The MC Deportes Foundation received support for the purchase of sports equipment for volleyball and baseball tournaments, while the Santa Lucía Mártir Parish benefited from funding for the construction of a perimeter fence and air conditioning improvements.

The Presidency highlighted that the donations are intended to have a direct and auditable impact on operations, equipment purchases, healthcare services, and the distribution of essential resources.

Through these contributions, President Abinader reaffirmed his support for organizations that serve as strategic allies in reducing social inequality and strengthening assistance programs for vulnerable sectors nationwide.
