President Abinader returns to Dominican Republic after official visits to Panama and Guyana

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader returned to the Dominican Republic on Thursday after completing an official trip to Panama and Guyana, where he promoted investment opportunities and signed a new bilateral agreement focused on oil exploration.

In Panama, Abinader served as keynote speaker at the World Free Zones Congress, highlighting the Dominican Republic’s competitive advantages for manufacturing and technology investments. He also met with Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino and held discussions with business leaders to strengthen exports and trade between the two countries.

The president then traveled to Georgetown, where he was welcomed by Prime Minister Mark Phillips and Foreign Minister Hugh Todd before meeting with President Mohamed Irfaan Ali. The visit concluded with the signing of a bilateral agreement aimed at advancing cooperation in oil exploration.

After arriving back in Santo Domingo, President Abinader went directly to the National Palace to resume his official duties. The trip underscored the government’s efforts to attract foreign investment and deepen strategic partnerships in energy, trade, and economic development.
