Puerto Plata Golf Club announces the 51st edition of its traditional Rotating Golf Cup

With the participation of more than 140 golfers and a special dedication to Mr. Fernando Ortega Brugal (Don Nano), the 51st edition of the Rotating Golf Cup, organized by the Puerto Plata Golf Club and presided over by businessman Juan Antonio Morales, will be held.

The competition will be held on August 29th, as well as September 4th and 5th.
Tribute to Ortega Brugal

According to Morales, “La Copa” has great significance for the institution as well as for the Puerto Plata community, since it is one of the most important golf tournaments in the northern region and the country.

This time, the event will pay tribute to Ortega Brugal for his constant dedication and effort over so many years for the development of golf and our club, he highlighted.

The sessions on Friday, September 4th and Saturday, September 5th will be open to national and international players, ensuring a top-level competition.

Format and prizes

This event at the Puerto Plata Golf Club is the second oldest in the country, only surpassed by the national tournaments organized by the Dominican Golf Federation ( Fedogolf ).

The tournament will be played in Stroke Play format and individually in the club’s rotating cup, as well as in the rotating open for guests and friends of the institution, according to Américo Núñez, director of the Playa Dorada Golf Club.

In addition, prizes will be awarded for the best net and gross score, and special prizes will be given for the longest drive, most accurate drive, hole-in-one, and closest to the pin on the 17th hole.
