Punta Bergantín sells nearly US$30 million in one weekend

Tourism Minister David Collado reported that the Punta Bergantín tourism and real estate project in Puerto Plata generated nearly US$30 million in sales in a single weekend, highlighting strong investor interest in the development.

Collado said the project, led by Andrés Marranzini, is expected to further position Puerto Plata as one of the Dominican Republic’s leading tourism destinations and strengthen its presence in the Caribbean market.

The development will include investments from Meliá and Hyatt, which are expected to add more than 1,000 hotel rooms while generating jobs and boosting commercial activity in the province.

Punta Bergantín is being developed as a large-scale tourism complex with multiple high-end hotels, with an emphasis on sustainability and integration with Puerto Plata’s natural environment.
