Punta Cana Airport activates AutoGate with new Dominican biometric passport
Punta Cana.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) announced that the new Dominican biometric passport is now operational at the AutoGate immigration control gates at Punta Cana International Airport.
The integration allows Dominican travelers with the new passport to complete entry and exit procedures automatically, without prior registration with Migration or direct inspection by an immigration officer.
The system electronically reads and verifies travelers’ biometric data and checks it in real time against official databases, improving both processing times and security.
The activation follows technical interoperability between the DGM and the General Directorate of Passports and is part of efforts to modernize immigration services and facilitate passenger flows at the country’s main airports.
AutoGate is already available at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) and Cibao International Airport.
