Santiago tourism cluster supports construction of Amber Tourist Highway

Santiago de los Caballeros.- The Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster expressed its support for the construction of the Amber Tourist Highway, saying the project could strengthen connectivity between Santiago and Puerto Plata and contribute to the economic and tourism development of both provinces.

Cluster president Brenda Sánchez highlighted the initiative as an opportunity to promote multi-destination tourism, facilitate travel for domestic and international visitors, and strengthen ties between two of the Dominican Republic’s key tourism destinations.

Sánchez said the highway could improve the competitiveness of the region, attract new investments, and provide visitors with a more integrated tourism experience while benefiting businesses across the tourism sector.

The organization reaffirmed its support for infrastructure projects that improve mobility, promote sustainable development, and strengthen Santiago and Puerto Plata as complementary destinations within the country’s tourism industry.
