Santo Domingo 2026 opening ceremony generates 134.8 million digital impressions
Santo Domingo.- The opening ceremony of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 generated an estimated 134.8 million digital impressions, highlighting the event’s strong online impact across social media and digital platforms, according to monitoring by analytics platform Brand24.
The report found that approximately 82% of the total reach came from social media, accounting for more than 110.5 million impressions, while another 24.3 million were generated through digital media and other online channels outside social networks.
Brand24 also reported a sharp increase in positive online conversation surrounding the Games, with thousands of users sharing photos, videos, comments, and reactions that extended the event’s visibility well beyond official accounts and traditional media coverage.
According to the analysis, the opening ceremony generated an estimated advertising value equivalent (AVE) of $15.7 million, representing a 203% increase in media value. The event also received a Presence Score of 69 out of 100, reflecting its strong digital visibility and public engagement.
The report concluded that the opening of Santo Domingo 2026 became a major online conversation, driven largely by organic audience participation as the Dominican Republic welcomed thousands of athletes from across Central America and the Caribbean for the centennial edition of the regional multi-sport event.
