Sky High Dominicana and Plaza de la Salud join forces to strengthen medical tourism
Santo Domingo.- Sky High Dominicana and Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud (HGPS) have signed a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to specialized healthcare services for international patients while strengthening the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading medical tourism destination in the Caribbean.
The agreement will allow passengers traveling through Sky High Dominicana’s network across the Caribbean and South America to access high-quality medical care at Plaza de la Salud with greater ease and exclusive benefits. The initiative is designed to facilitate travel for patients seeking specialized treatment in the Dominican Republic and enhance the country’s growing health tourism sector.
As part of the partnership, Sky High passengers will receive preferential rates and special conditions on a wide range of healthcare services, including specialist consultations, diagnostic testing, clinical laboratories, medical imaging, preventive checkups, and emergency care. Travelers will only need to present a valid Sky High Dominicana ticket to access these benefits.
Cesarina Beauchamp highlighted that the alliance reflects the airline’s commitment to improving access to opportunities and essential services across the region. She noted that air connectivity plays an increasingly important role in facilitating healthcare access and supporting economic and social development throughout the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, Dr. Julio Amado Castaños Guzmán emphasized the importance of building partnerships that expand access to specialized medical services for international patients and strengthen the Dominican Republic’s healthcare offering.
The agreement also includes joint promotional and institutional initiatives designed to increase the international visibility of the Dominican Republic as a trusted destination for medical care. By combining advanced healthcare services with strong regional air connectivity, both organizations aim to attract more international patients and reinforce the country’s competitiveness in the medical tourism market.
