‘Sleeping Women’ network seduced, drugged and robbed victims

Agents from the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), attached to the Department of Investigation of Crimes and Offenses Against Property, arrested two women and a man of Colombian nationality, identified as members of a criminal structure that was dedicated to seducing men in order to then supply them with sedative substances and rob them of their belongings.

The detainees are Natali Valeria Castillo González, Laura Valentina Villegas Villafaña, and Diego Armando González, captured through the execution of a court order for a search in an apartment of the Arrecifes del Sol residential complex, in Santo Domingo East.

According to the investigations, those involved contacted and seduced their victims and subsequently supplied them with a chemical substance in their drinks, causing a state of sedation, which they took advantage of to steal cash, valuables, credit and debit cards, cell phones, and other personal items.

This type of crime is popularly known as “The Sleepers.”

During the raid, numerous items were recovered that had been stolen from victims who had previously filed complaints, including cell phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, gold jewelry, and items from well-known brands.

The investigators also seized RD$197,000 in cash, as well as money in Canadian dollars and Colombian pesos, and a chemical substance that will be subjected to laboratory analysis by technicians from the Scientific Police to determine its composition and possible relationship with the investigated events.

The detainee, Diego Armando González, was also found in possession of an identity document with apparent signs of falsification.

The investigations, coordinated with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, remain open to identify additional victims and determine the involvement of other individuals in this criminal structure.

The detainees and the seized evidence are under the control of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
