Smart Dominican Republic: who can participate, what they will learn and how to register

One million Dominicans learning Artificial Intelligence? That’s the goal of RD Inteligente, a proposal that seeks to strengthen the population’s digital skills through free training.

Who can participate? Do you need to know about technology? How long does it last? What will you learn, and how do you register? Here’s what you need to know.

What do I need to register?

To register, you need your identity and voter registration card, as well as an email address.

During the process, you will also be asked for your date of birth, province, sector, and the route you wish to follow. A phone number is not required.

To begin, go to RDinteligente.do, select the registration option, and enter your ID number, email address, and first and last names.

Do you need to know about technology?

No. No prior knowledge or specialized experience is required.

The content starts from scratch and uses examples from daily life in the Dominican Republic, with explanations designed to be understood without technical knowledge.

What will you learn?

The training is divided into different stages.

Level 1: common section

This first part lasts 10 hours and does not need to be completed in one sitting.

Your progress is saved automatically, so you can close the training and resume it whenever you want, even from another device. There’s also no fixed class schedule.

Topics covered include what Artificial Intelligence is and what it is not; what generative AI is; how to formulate good instructions; when a simple query is sufficient and when it is necessary to be more specific; practices that can improve results; and how to identify whether an AI response may be false.

A key idea also emerges during the learning process: the first result AI offers is almost never the final one.

Level 2: productivity

After the common section, the program continues with training focused on applying AI to employment.

This stage lasts 25 hours and is based on the idea that not everyone works in the same spaces or needs the same tools.

Level 3: Specialization

The third stage allows for further exploration of areas such as data, automation, development, security, or public management.

This training lasts between 60 and 120 hours and includes manufacturer certification.
