They are asking for more resources for the treatment of people with addictions in the Dominican Republic.
Santo Domingo – On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Hogar Crea called on the Government to support the institution in treating people with addictions. The organization’s director asked that substance users not be treated as criminals, but as patients.
To promote addiction prevention, Hogar Crea Dominicano held a walk and laid a floral offering at the Altar of the Fatherland, activities for which they have requested more financial resources to create spaces for new citizens who require treatment.

Meanwhile, the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) reiterated that it will continue to carry out actions against drug trafficking networks.
He also urged Dominican families to maintain active supervision and provide guidance to their children.
For its part, the International Drug Policy Consortium called for supporting people who use substances, not punishing them.
