Turizoneando 2026 Summer edition brings more than 100 cultural activities to Santo Domingo’s Colonial City

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Tourism and the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster have launched the summer edition of “Turizoneando 2026,” an initiative designed to promote culture, entertainment, and tourism in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City through a diverse program of activities running until August 30.

Over the course of 11 weeks, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy more than 100 events, including live concerts, theater performances, stand-up comedy, artisan markets, children’s activities, museum tours, and cultural experiences in some of the capital’s most historic locations.

The program features performances by artists such as Aljadaqui, Gabriel Pagán, and Techy Fatule, as well as jazz concerts, folk music presentations, and the traditional Sunday gatherings led by Bonyé at the Ruins of San Francisco. Duarte Park will also host artisan fairs and comedy shows, while five theaters in the Colonial City will offer special performances throughout the season.

Visitors will have access to free guided visits through the Temple Route, which includes several historic churches, and extended evening hours at museums such as the Royal Shipyards Museum, the Cathedral Museum, and the Amber and Larimar museums. Organizers have also introduced a dedicated information platform and transportation incentives, including discounts on Uber rides to and from the Colonial City.

The initiative officially opened with a concert at Parque Colón featuring the bands Transfusión and Techy Fatule, marking the beginning of a summer-long cultural festival aimed at strengthening tourism and showcasing the historical and artistic richness of the Colonial City.
