Vice President Raquel Peña travels to Spain to promote investment and trade

Vice President Raquel Peña will travel to Spain this Wednesday and Thursday for an official agenda focused on attracting foreign investment, strengthening public-private cooperation, and expanding strategic partnerships to support the Dominican Republic’s economic growth.

The visit is part of President Luis Abinader’s strategy to deepen ties with international partners and reinforce the country’s position as one of the Caribbean and Latin America’s leading investment destinations.

As head of the Investment Promotion Cabinet, Peña will meet with representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) to discuss new trade opportunities, investment projects, and greater collaboration between Dominican and Spanish companies in strategic sectors.

The meetings follow the Dominican Republic’s participation in the American Investment Forum 2026, where the government showcased the country’s investment climate, economic stability, and business-friendly policies.

During her visit, Peña will also participate in the inaugural Libertas Forum, where European and Latin American leaders will discuss democracy, the rule of law, fundamental rights, and economic development. She is expected to present the Dominican Republic’s public policies aimed at fostering economic growth, institutional stability, and public-private collaboration.

Her agenda also includes meetings with officials from the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) and representatives from Spain’s political and cultural sectors to strengthen bilateral relations.
