Wingo and Flair Airlines add new international routes from Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata.- Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) will expand its international connectivity during the 2026-2027 winter season with new direct services to Colombia and Canada, according to Aerodom, the airport’s operator and part of the Vinci Airports network.

Colombian airline Wingo will launch a direct route between Puerto Plata and Bogotá on October 6, 2026, operating two weekly flights through January 25, 2027. The service is expected to provide approximately 8,900 seats during the winter season.

Canadian carrier Flair Airlines will also add Puerto Plata to its network for the first time. Flights between Montreal and Puerto Plata will begin December 18, with two weekly frequencies, followed by the Toronto–Puerto Plata route on December 19, also operating up to twice a week.

The new services will strengthen direct connections between Puerto Plata and two key international markets while providing additional travel options for residents of the North region, Santiago and the Cibao. They are also expected to facilitate the arrival of international visitors to Puerto Plata and other destinations along the Dominican Republic’s north coast.

The airport operator credited the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Ministry of Tourism, Wingo, Flair Airlines, ProColombia and tourism-sector organizations for their collaboration in developing the new connections.

The expansion is part of Aerodom and Vinci Airports’ ongoing efforts to increase connectivity from Gregorio Luperón International Airport and strengthen Puerto Plata’s tourism and commercial links with international markets.
