Woman with alleged mental disorder kills her 10-year-old daughter in Manoguayabo

The National Police reported that they arrested a woman after an incident in the Batey Bienvenido sector, in the municipal district of Manoguayabo, where she allegedly injured her 10-year-old daughter.

The minor received emergency medical assistance for a laceration on her neck; however, she later died while receiving medical attention.

According to preliminary information, the detainee has a history of treatment for a mental health condition and has been on medical leave since 2023.

The institution specified that the detainee is a “disqualified” member of the National Police, a condition that will be incorporated into the investigative process, in strict adherence to the law and due process.

The case is being investigated by the National Police, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to fully clarify the circumstances of the event and establish the corresponding responsibilities.
