Abinader expresses solidarity and sends emergency teams to Venezuela
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people following the powerful earthquake that struck the country, causing fatalities, injuries, and significant material damage. In a message shared on social media, the president said he spoke with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to convey the support of the Dominican government and people during the crisis.
Abinader announced that the Dominican Republic will send specialized search, rescue, and emergency response teams to Venezuela in the coming hours to assist local authorities in addressing the aftermath of the disaster. The mission will be composed of members of the Dominican Armed Forces with experience in responding to natural emergencies.
The president also extended his condolences to the families of the victims and expressed support for those injured and affected by the earthquake. The deployment of Dominican personnel aims to contribute to ongoing recovery and humanitarian efforts as Venezuela works to respond to the emergency.
