Key ruling imminent in case against former president Fernandez

Santo Domingo.- A National District court is expected to hand down its ruling on the challenge filed by opposition Al-País party president Guillermo Moreno to the dropping of embezzlement charges against former president Leonel Fernandez, founder and head of the think tank, FUNGLODE.

1st Instruction Court judge Roman Berroa cited Moreno, Fernandez’s defense lawyers and prosecutor, to be present for the reading of his ruling.

Fernandez’s defense is headed by former Justice ministers Radhamés Jimenez and Abel Rodriguez del Orbe, while Cristobal Rodriguez heads Moreno’s team.
