Ministry of Culture brings Calle Cultura to Salcedo

Salcedo.- Minister of Culture Roberto Ángel Salcedo presented the national campaign “The Power of Good Words” in the province of Hermanas Mirabal, aiming to foster a civic culture rooted in respect, empathy, and peaceful coexistence through language. The launch, held at the Provincial Government headquarters in Salcedo, is part of the broader Calle Cultura initiative, which brings art and cultural activities directly into public spaces.

During the event, Salcedo highlighted the campaign’s goal of encouraging mindful language use in social, family, and educational settings, noting that words can shape a more just and peaceful society. The campaign will be rolled out nationwide, integrating into schools, community centers, and major cultural events like the International Book Fair.

Coinciding with the launch, Calle Cultura turned the streets of Salcedo into a vibrant cultural stage. On Francisca Mollins and Restauración streets, hundreds of people gathered to enjoy music, theater, poetry, and other artistic expressions from the Cibao region.
