Dominican Republic should lead East Asia-LatAm Cooperation Forum

Santo Domingo.- The Roundtable of Commonwealth Countries in the Dominican Republic, on Mon. stressed the importance that the Dominican Republic presides this year over the East Asia and Latin America Cooperation Forum, FCAOAL.
Roundtable president Fernando González Nicolás said the objective of the Forum is to establish and strengthen an official and regular dialogue among the countries of Latin America and the countries of Asia.
The Forum is formed in Asia by Australia, Brunei, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Burma, Cambodia, Mongolia, China, Thailand, South Korea, Laos and Vietnam.
In Latin America figures Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
“The Forum is a unique opportunity to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations of the Dominican Republic with the countries that make up the Forum. The countries in Asia are economically developed.”
