Two local men whisked off to NYC face drug trafficking charges

Santo Domingo.- Two alleged drug traffickers wanted in the United States were escorted to Las Americas International Airport Tuesday afternoon and then flown to New York for arraignment in East and South district courts, the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) announced today.

The DNCD said Ricardo Almonte Bernabel, son of former U.S. convict and deportee Joselito.com, and Miguel Angel Minier, arrested separately in October 2012, left the country on Delta Airlines flight 488.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said the Executive Branch had issued separate decrees ordering the handover of both individuals to U.S. authorities.
