Dominican leader looks to God to resist vanity, arrogance

Moca, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina revealed Wednesday that he always asks God to resist vanity and arrogance, to allow him to continue being a humble and simple person and close to the humblest of Dominican people.

He also reiterated his “infinite willingness” to support the interior but within budget limitations and will continue to support agriculture because it sustain the people.

Medina noted that while the people’s needs are endless, the funds are finite.

He said when he hears people demand a cut in taxes, he asks them “with what is the Government going to operate?”

Medina’s statement came during a meeting hosted by the agribusinesses grouped in Confenagro, attended by farmers and ranchers from across the country.
