Top official warns Medina on ‘silence’ over ruling party flap

Santo Domingo.- Government Ethics Commission director Marino Vinicio Castillo on Monday warned president Danilo Medina that his "silence" on the ruling PLD party’s current situation "could be perilous."

"President Medina hasn’t realized that one thing is his prudence, caution, very well managed, and another is the quality of the issues that he must face," Castillo said, but didn’t elaborate.

When asked about National Palace spokesman Roberto Rodriguez Marchena’s affirmation that his son, Vinicio Castillo Seman, insulted Medina, the official said it’s not true. "I am a friend of Danilo Medina, now, tomorrow and forever."

Interviewed on Hoy Mismo Colorvision, Castillo said he was called to join Medina’s Administration and "won’t leave" as his enemies wish, which he didn’t identify.
